Nature/Unpublished work

The beauty of a place is shaped by both its natural surroundings and architectural design. Towering trees, vibrant gardens, and open courtyards create a sense of tranquility, changing with the seasons to add character to the landscape. Meanwhile, buildings—whether historic or modern—stand as lasting symbols of purpose and progress, each with a story to tell. The harmony between nature and architecture forms a unique atmosphere, blending history, design, and the ever-changing beauty of the environment.

One of the things that my family enjoys doing together is going to the zoo. In the summer we went to the wilderness in Frankenmuth Michigan. Although the animals are kept in grated fences, I was able to get my camera to focus through the fence to capture this amazing photo, which I then later put into black and white which made the photo look ten times better.

Since my sophomore year our yearbook staff has attended the MIPA fall conference in lancing Michigan. And at this past conference I decide to take the camera with me to try and broaden my photography skills into nature and architecture, which in this photo covers both. I also feel like by having the clock and the capital building in focuses shows that as time goes by so do laws and rules that we have to follow.

I feel like this photos highlighting highlights the detail of the fox very well. having to capture this through a grated fence it was difficult to not have the shadows of the fences show on the fox while still having the great natural. To be able to capture the photo without all of the shadows I had to get as close to the fence as possible along with getting eye level to the fox.

During my second summer of attending the MIPA Summer journalism workshop, I took the class photojournalism Beyond the Basics, with Ike Lee, in this class I took a deeper dive into photojournalism. By taking this class, I became more comfortable with taking photos in manual settings. This photo is an example of center of visual interest which captures that the crisp features of the bee along with the shape of the flower.

Even though you can't see their faces you can still tell that it is a moment shared between a mom and a son. When I saw them together, I thought that it made a really good photo because of how fast life goes by and how little moments people get like this. I love how it shows the environment and the child looking into the water and the mother making sure that he is safe. Life is to short so you got to capture it before time flies, and it is gone. Live life to the fullest before it's too late.
