Preforming Art's

Reflection-2024 Executive
Since my freshman my school's theater department has been putting on in school plays where students can come down and watch all of our theater classes perform the play for their first semester grade. I have always had a love for the preforming arts so when I had the opportunity to take photos for my school theater productions, I was excited. These events have given me the respect of not only my peers, but also my teachers. Which make taking photos of events go more smoothly then If I hadn't.

Going back to the football season our school's band always has one of the best halftimes shows, with catchy toons that get the cowed excited and involved. And although our band is small, they are ever mighty. But the sad thing is that they are usually overlooked not only the football team, but also the cheer and dance team. Knowing that that happens, I always have liked to be able to shine the spotlight on my schools band, and when I saw this photo, it showed the dedication and concentration that Being the Drum major takes.

When taking photos in a theater the lighting is constantly changing depending on what is happening on the stage. So, when I take photos in our school's theater I like to shoot in manual, so I have more control on how the lighting on the photos that I capture. So by taking this photo in manual I was able to capture the vivid emotion of the actors due to control over the exposer while taking photos.

Normally the Drum line is usually placed at the back of the field which can make it difficult to capture them. But in 2024 they had a Drumline feature in one of their songs allowing them to come to the front of the field to perform. By them coming to the front of the field by where I was taking photos, I was able to capture their performance by freezing their movement mid drum.
